Position Availablity
What’s the Significance of My "Primary Position"?
There are three major components to our clinics: instruction sessions, workout/evaluation sessions, and games. Your designation of a "primary position" only makes a difference during the game you play.
We only guarantee playing time in the game, at the position that you are "Invited As" which is shown on your Main Page. In most cases, this will be what you selected as your "Primary Position" when you first signed up. You may or may not get playing time at your secondary position.
For the instruction sessions, you may choose any three of eleven clinic/instruction sessions without regard to either primary or secondary position.
In order to balance the teams and instruction time for each player, we limit the number of players we take at each position. The player limit (range is based on the total number of players in an event) by position is:
Position |
Range for Events |
|---|---|
| Pitchers | 6 to 7 per team |
| Catchers |
|
| Outfielders | 3 to 5 per team |
| Middle Infielders | 3 to 5 per team |
| First Basemen | 1 to 2 per team |
| Third Basemen | 1 to 2 per team |
There are three ways you can determine if there are openings at your position for the clinic(s) you are interested in attending.
- Check for position availability on the specific clinic display page (see the Clinic Dates and Clinic Locations links for lists of events)
- The Event Selection Page (presented automatically after you create an account or when you click on the “Add an Event” button on your main page) divides the clinics into three groups:
- Clinics with availability at your primary position
- Clinics with no availability at your primary position but with availability at your secondary position
- Clinics with no availability at either your primary or secondary position
- When your click the register button to pay the registration fee on-line. The system automatically re-checks position availability before it lets you pay the registration fee.
